Ontario post-winter reset

Spring Salt Recovery Car Detailing

Winter salt does not land evenly. Rubber mats may need a straightforward wash, while carpet edges, footwells and lower trim can hold dried salt that needs controlled wetting, agitation, extraction and drying. Rosie starts from the existing Interior Detail path and moves deeper only when the real condition justifies it.

Salt cleanup has different levels

Light winter residue

Loose grit, dusty white film and maintained mats may fit the ordinary interior path with focused salt cleanup.

Crusted carpet salt

Repeated wet boots and dried salt can build along carpet edges and footwells. This can need more controlled wetting, agitation, extraction and drying time.

Wet or saturated history

If a spill, snowmelt or repeated saturation reached beneath the visible carpet, send photos and explain what happened. Hidden-moisture work is reviewed before expanding scope.

When we pause and re-quote

  • salt is heavily embedded and repeated extraction is required;
  • the visible stain points to hidden saturation or under-carpet moisture;
  • seat/trim removal or carpet lifting may be needed for safe access;
  • the job expands beyond ordinary detailing into a longer restoration visit.

Rosie confirms expanded scope before proceeding. This service does not claim mould/mold remediation.

Why photos help with heavy salt

Show the driver's footwell, passenger footwell, mat edges, rear floor and cargo area. Close-ups help distinguish surface residue from thick crystallized buildup. If the floor has been wet, say when it happened and whether it dried fully. That evidence lets Rosie choose the right existing package/add-on path rather than guessing labour.

Mobile service setup

Rosie brings standard detailing water and power. Please provide a safe, private and permitted work area with enough room to open doors and work around the vehicle. Unusual parking, building access, weather or local runoff/site restrictions should be raised before dispatch.

Frequently asked questions

Why does winter salt sometimes come back after it dries?

Dissolved residue can move through carpet fibres while moisture evaporates. Heavy deposits may need repeated controlled extraction and drying instead of one aggressive soaking.

Do you automatically remove seats?

No. Seat or trim removal is not assumed. If safe access requires a larger disassembly scope, Rosie stops and confirms the work before proceeding.

Can I combine salt recovery with a full exterior reset?

Yes. Quick Book can start with the interior need and you can review the main package and add-ons before checkout.
